Carl Sagan On Alien Civilizations
Sir Patrick Moore spoke to Dr Carl Sagan in 1974 about the search for other civilizations.
Scientists Evidence Of Water On Mars – 2011
Scientists have uncovered evidence they say provides the most sound evidence yet that water once existed on Mars. This color view of a mineral vein called “Homestake” comes from Opportunity’s panoramic camera. Opportunity examined it in November 2011 and found it to be rich in calcium and sulfur, possibly the calcium-sulfate mineral gypsum.
Mapping the History of Space & Time
The longer a telescope spends looking at a target, the more sensitive the observations become, and the deeper we can look into space. But to get the full picture of what’s happening in the Universe, astronomers also need observations at a range of different wavelengths, requiring different telescopes. These are the key ideas behind the [...]
The Milky Way Big Picture
Two and a half billion infrared pixels are exposing our own Galaxy in this new image from NASA’s Spitzer Space Telescope! This is the Hidden Universe of the Spitzer Space Telescope, exploring the mysteries of infrared astronomy with your host Dr. Robert Hurt [Source] The Hidden Universe of the Spitzer Space Telescope (Episode 22): The [...]
Hessdalen Lights
Since 1983 there has been ongoing scientific research often nicknamed “Project Hessdalen”, initiated by Dr. Erling Strand. In 1998, the Hessdalen AMS automated scientific research station was built in the valley. It registers and records the appearance of lights. A government funded and public UFO research project done by scientists and students. They also caught [...]
Night Flyby of the Earth from Space
Video made with 594 photos taken from the ISS during the program called MAGIX MUSIC MAKER and research on light pollution. Photographs from: Image Science and Analysis Laboratory, NASA-Johnson Space Center. “The Gateway to Astronaut Photography of Earth.”
Evidence of Past Life on the Red Planet
This video details the scientific evidence proving that microbial life lived on Mars from 4 billion to at least 1 million years ago. A documentary film by Rhawn Joseph, Ph.D. This film is the Third chapter (Part 3), from the 55 minute film: God & The Origin of Life. This video and the associated chapters, [...]
C/2010 X1
Comet C/2010 X1 (Elenin) is a long-period comet discovered by Russian astronomer Leonid Elenin on December 10, 2010 at International Scientific Optical Network’s robotic observatory near Mayhill, New Mexico, U.S.A. On 16 October 2011, the comet will pass within about 0.23 AU (34,000,000 km; 21,000,000 mi) of the Earth at a relative velocity of 85,000 [...]
The Search for Habitable Planets
As dust and gas swirl into the newborn star, they form a proto-planetary disk. Within this Frisbee-like structure, gravity sculpts planetary bodies that grow in size, sweeping up smaller bodies that form around them. Current theory holds that giant planets, forming on the periphery, commonly migrate into the inner solar system. This confirms the observation [...]
The Electric Universe
A brief introduction to some aspects of Plasma Cosmology, and the role electricity plays here on Earth. Unknown by many, our generally accepted views of our sun, comets, black holes, pulsars (spinning neutron stars) and many others are unable to explain all phenomenon that we are observing. As the internet grows some of these issues [...]
